A note from Head Floral Designer Karla: I grew up near my family farm in Troy, Missouri. From a young age, I loved nature and the outdoors. I spent countless hours outside on the Missouri prairie. One of my cherished childhood memories is picking flowers that my grandmother and I grew on our family farm. Snowball bushes (also known as white and pink peonies), blue flags (aka purple irises), daffodils, butterfly milkweed, lilac bushes, and many other flowers were in abundance during the growing season. My mother, Billie Jean, had a rustic flower garden comprised of pink, yellow, and red tea roses. Our rose garden was outlined with old repurposed railroad ties. We spent time caring for our roses and enjoying each bud and bloom. During the growing season in Missouri from Spring to Fall we had fresh flowers and greenery at our dinner table. In the winter months, we decorated freshly cut evergreens from our trees. I have designed fresh and permanent flowers for all occasions. Whatever life’s season, flowers help celebrate times and treasures. I consider it both an honor and a privilege to design flowers that connect us together, especially for the precious moments in life.
